Order of Malta Sanctity of Life Mass to Be Held September 6th The Order of Malta Annual Sanctity of Life Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road in Houston on Saturday morning September 6, 2014 at 8:15 AM. The Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Brendan Cahill. The Knights of Columbus 4th Degree will participate with music by Stephen Sloper. While Respect Life, Pregnancy Help Centers, Knights of Columbus and Youth Ministries are especially encourage to attend, all are invited to this special Mass. The Order of Malta founded in the 11th century, is a lay religious order of the Catholic Church that seeks to glorify God through their work with the poor and the sick and the defense of the Catholic Faith. According to Kate Signorelli, its Houston Regional Hospitaller, "The Annual Sanctity of Life Mass is a beautiful, joyful opportunity for everyone to defend the faith by their witness to the sanctity of life from conception to natural death and their proclaiming Jesus' Gospel of Life at the Mass." In addition to their defense of the faith, the 13,000 Knights and Dames of the Order of Malta together with 80,000 volunteers and 15,000 doctors, nurses and health care professionals, aid the sick and poor in more than 200 hospitals, medical centers, emergency relief, and ambulance corps worldwide. The Order's most well-known projects include the Holy Family Hospital in Bethlehem near the site of the Nativity, and the Order's annual pilgrimage with the sick to Lourdes, France. In Houston, there are appropriately 50 members of the Order. In addition to the annual Sanctity of Life Mass and their Anointing Mass in February, the Order locally serves the sick and the poor at Martha's Kitchen, the Veterans' Hospital and Catholic Charities. The Annual Mass is a beautiful and joyful opportunity for all to defend the faith by witnessing to the sanctity of life from conception to natural death. Respects Life and Youth ministries are especially encouraged to attend and all are invited to proclaim the Gospel of Life at the Mass. Please bring your family and friends to join us as we pray for the Sanctity of Life. For more information visit<> To Watch Video Invitation Click Here<>
